Now do you think looking cool takes alot of money? is so ill prove you wrong over and over. and here is one way to improve the looks (and safety) of your ride.

Every one has seen them. so you know what im talking about. its those yellowed, nasty oxidized lights on cars. i have seen them on sweet cars but any car with them always looks bad. you dont have to go and run out to buy new ones. heres an easy and cheap way of restoring the ones that you have.

lets start by showing you the items that you will need. these are most likely laying around if you are a real car guy so that would make this a free mod. shown in the pic is basic dot 3 brake fluid, a bottle of simple green, and a can of mothers wheel and mag polish.

in the next pic we can see how crappy the light was to start off. when a light looks like this it not only looks bad but it also does not allow the light to shine as brightly as it should. thus lowering others ability to see your car at night and in the rain or fog.

start by applying a small amount of brake fluid to a rag. ***NOTE*** brake fluid will harm your paint. if you do not feel that you can do this without getting brake fluid on your car then remove the lights and do them off the car. ok now that you have the brake fluid on the rag use it to buff away the oxidation from your lights. shown in the next pics is during buffing and after.

now in the last pic it looks good. but you still need to clean off the brake fluid. you dont want to leave it on the light. so grab that bottle of simple green and get to cleaning! after cleaning it will look duller than it did before you cleane it but that just because it no longer has the brake fluid on it.

now its time to polish it to look like new. so break out the mothers wheel and mag polish and get polishing. repeat this step until you reach the desired shine.

now show some pride in your ride and get those lights cleaned!

as always i hope that you enjoyed this howto and there will be more to come.
