ok as you all know i hit a dear in my probe. well what i didnt state was what the officer told me the night of the accident. as he was handing me my paperwork he was telling me whats what. one piece of paper was for me to take to my insurance company to fill out and fax in for proof of insurance. the officer told me i had 48 hours to do this or i would loose my drivers license. i thought it was no big deal since i needed to go to the insurance company the next day so that they could reimburse my tow bill.

well after taking care of all of that i thought everything was just peachy. today i check my mail and what do ya know i had a letter from the bmv. its a “financial responsibility verification” letter. it basically states i need to prove i had financial responsibility for my car when the accident happened by a certain date or they are going to suspend my drivers license.

heres a link to the letter i got. please note its the second letter not the first.

how many times do i have to prove i have insurance? and wtf is with all of the threats of suspending my drivers license? i get involved in an accident that was not my fault and get treated like im a criminal. im sure its all just standard crap but it sure does seem that whoever wrote the wording on these documents wanted to make everybody that got one feel even worse than they already did from the accident. this accident took christmas away from my family. i was driving when the accident happened. there was nothing i could do to prevent the accident. do you think i feel shitty enough?
